What Experts Say I

A sutdy by Ioannis Leftheriotis and Michail N. Giannakos on the subject of social media. A  conducted empirical study to look into the use of social media in the insurance industry.

• A total of 1799 insurance industry employees polled.

•  Workplace social media usage is influenced by emotional and functional values.

• Using social media for work has a favorable impact on employee performance.
Though this post will be short, this article suggests how the use of social media in the workplace allows for a new way of communicating with coworkers and clients. Despite the fact that social media is at the top of many firms' agendas, there appears to be a lack of understanding of how to use it for work reasons. In this study, authors look into what motivates employees to utilize social media for work, and if such usage is linked to their performance. Employees, regardless of age, make extensive use of social media for work, according to the findings. Authors as well suggest that, that at least in the insurance industry, both emotional and functional values impact employees' usage of social media for work. Last but not least, this research demonstrates that there is a significant link between social media use and job performance.
